Counselling Helps

Relationship difficulties - can often be caused by old patterns of behaviour that no longer serve us positively. Maybe you recognise you are growing apart from your partner.

When you embark on a relationship you may want to be close but fear getting hurt. You could think that the one who has control feels less vulnerable. Then the relationship itself becomes a battlefield and instead of communication there is a war of words.

These issues can be explored individually or as a couple. I offer  a safe, protected place where you can be supported to take more risks and express yourself honestly. When you start doing that, then change really happens.

Anger Management – you can get a better understanding of anger and of your life up to this point. With this new insight and awareness you will begin to have a choice of how you express yourself in ways that are less destructive.

Abuse - I find many clients have experience of abuse or bullying in varying degrees of either a sexual, physical or psychological nature.

Addictions - Eating disorders, drugs or alcohol, even addictions to negative relationships or behaviour patterns i.e. finding yourself repeating the same failures in relationships. There is no 'quick fix' but there can be a way through to a life without a debilitating addiction.

Unexplained physiological problems - can be a manifestation of serious emotional/psychological  hurt or an un-addressed problem.

Dreams and Creative Imagery - dreams can leave a vivid lasting impression, some are recurring and other can be truly disturbing. Dreams, and especially nightmares, can come from the subconscious, trying to get our attention and give us a 'wake-up-call' to look at something that is happening in our life or unfinished business.

Group Work – offers an excellent catalyst to support awareness, change and empowerment.
